Abstract
The purpose of this study is to present a model of a diversity-oriented curriculum based on the theory of cognitive flexibility, This study is a qualitative research that employs a systematic review method to answer the first research question. In this research, to collect data related to the first research question, a search was conducted for articles, theses, and relevant texts from reputable online databases from 1988 to 2020. Ultimately, among these sources, 28 of the most relevant texts related to the research questions were selected and analyzed using the thematic analysis method. Definitions, goals, principles and standards and emphasis in the field of teaching and learning were among the main themes of cognitive flexibility theory. Subthemes related to each main theme were also identified. After knowing the characteristics of the theory of cognitive flexibility, based on the characteristics, diversity-oriented curriculum elements were designed. Diversity in type, level, form, and complexity was among the most important features of diversity-oriented curriculum. After designing the model of diversity-oriented curriculum, the program was given to 10 curriculum specialists, who by 90% approved the various elements of the program.
