Problem statement: The present research is related to social factors related to cognitive skills and its effectS on students' class participation. This topic is in the field of sociology of cognition. The process of absorbing, organizing and using mental information is called cognition. The discussion of cognition and cognitive science is a new and modern issue and because of its importance, the present age is called the age of cognition. Class participation is one of the active methods of learning, which in simple language is defined as the conditions in which students participate in the activities provided by the school.
Methodology: The research is based on the positivism philosophy and with a deductive approach. The research strategy is a descriptive-survey type and the statistical population of the research is (9517) the secondary school students of Tabriz education-district one, of which (1163) students are selected as the sample by using Cochran's formula. The research is a mono-quantitative method. A standard questionnaire has been used to collect the data. Time horizon of the research is cross-sectional.
Findings: The findings of the research show that the dependent variable of class participation in terms of direct and indirect effects and the total independent variables of the variable of cognitive skills is more affecte
