Background and Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between Internet
addiction and academic procrastination and psychological well-being of high school students.
Methods: This research is a descriptive correlation in terms of applied purpose and in terms of nature
and method. The target population is all 14543 female high school students in Hamedan in the
academic year of 1998-99, from which 384 people were selected based on Krejcie Morgan table using
multi-stage cluster sampling method. In order to collect the required data, Yang Internet Addiction
Questionnaire, Reef Psychological Welfare Questionnaire and riding academic procrastination
questionnaire were used. To analyze the data, Pearson correlation test was used. Multiple variance and
regression were used in spss23 software environment.
Findings: The results showed that the components of Internet addiction (social problems, impact on
performance, lack of control, morbid use of Chat Room and neglect of job and educational duties) are
able to positively delay the academic procrastination of female adolescents and psychological wellbeing in the form of Predict negatively and meaningfully.
Conclusion: Therefore, when students have a strong tendency to use the Internet and spend many
hours surfing in cyberspace, their sensitivity to academic performance as well as their social
interactions and interactions decreases, and consequently their psychological well-being is negatively
affected by this. A phenomenon has occurred and there is also a phenomenon called academic
procrastination in them.
